12-man Gilas lineup finally set for FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers


The final Gilas Pilipinas lineup for the first window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2021 Qualifiers is officially set.

Newly-minted head coach Mark Dickel finally announced the 12-man pool Wednesday night, right after the Philippine men’s basketball team training at the Meralco Gym.

Gilas team, which will take on Indonesia for its opening game on the road on February 23, is made up of seven PBA stars and five amateur standouts.

Included in the roster were Gilas mainstays Kiefer Ravena, CJ Perez, Troy Rosario, Poy Erram, RR Pogoy, along with Abu Tratter and Justin Chua, while newbies Dwight Ramos, Matt Nieto, Isaac Go, Juan Gomez de Liano, and Thirdy Ravena also made the cut.

Marc Pingris, Javi Gomez de Liaño, Kobe Paras, Mike Nieto, Allyn Bulanadi, and Dave Ildefonso, meanwhile failed to make it the final lineup, while Javee Mocon, Rey Suerte, and Jaydee Tungcab were listed as reserves.
