Standhardinger emerges as Best Player of the Conference


NorthPort Batang Pier’s Christian Standhardinger took home the Best Player of the Conference award for the first time in his PBA career, Wednesday evening in the 2019 PBA Governors’ Cup finals Game 4 at the Big Dome.

After being traded by San Miguel to NorthPort early in the conference, Standhardinger has proved his worth as he normed 22.7 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game as a Batang Pier.

The Batang Pier center helped his team make it all the way to the semifinals, highlighted by a 33-point performance to go with 23 boards and seven assists in their do-or-die win that completed their upset of top-seeded NLEX Road Warriors.

With a total of 1,011 points, Standhardinger edged former teammate June Mar Fajardo, who had 657 points.

TNT KaTropa’s Jayson Castro came in third with 615, CJ Perez was fourth with 506, while Kiefer Ravena finished fifth with 481 points.
